Saffron Walden's 1st Boys' Brigade Company

About Us

Established in 1980 within the vibrant community of Saffron Walden Baptist Church, the 1st Saffron Walden Boys' Brigade Company has spent over four decades fostering personal growth, teamwork, and adventure among young people. With a solid foundation of strong membership and an unwaveringly dedicated team of staff, we are proud to offer a diverse and engaging program of activities that inspire and challenge our members.

Our company is deeply rooted in the local community and church, actively participating in competitions and events that showcase the talent and spirit of our boys. For our older members, summers are packed with unforgettable experiences at camp, where they engage in outdoor pursuits, build lifelong friendships, and develop key life skills. Beyond this, they undertake expeditions both close to home and in distant, exciting locales, giving them a taste of adventure and a sense of achievement.

Every age group in our Brigade benefits from a thoughtfully curated program of activities, ensuring that each boy has the chance to grow, learn, and have fun in an age-appropriate manner. From creative projects to physical challenges, our aim is to nurture both personal and social development in a dynamic and enjoyable way.

Above all, we are committed to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and friendly environment where every young person can thrive. By adhering to the latest safeguarding practices and putting the well-being of our members at the heart of everything we do, we create a space where there's something for everyone.

The 1st Saffron Walden Boys' Brigade Company is more than just a group—it’s a community, a place of learning, and a launchpad for adventures that shape the lives of young people in meaningful and lasting ways.
