Last BB Night of 2025!

On the final night of the Boys' Brigade 2025, we celebrated together with a wonderful mean at the Jade Garden Chinese Restaurant. The food was delicious and set the tone for a cheerful evening, filled with laughter and camaraderie. After dinner, we enjoyed our traditional Christmas-themed games, including a lively round of pass the parcel and our much-loved "12 Days of Christmas" sing-along, all thoughtfully organized by Maxine and Spencer Taylor. It was the perfect way to round off another fantastic year at BB, leaving everyone with great memories and a strong sense of togetherness as we look forward to what 2026 will bring!

Thank You Mike!

After 45 years, our long-serving Captain and founder of 1st Saffron Walden Boys’ Brigade, Mike Turner, has decided to step down.

Mike founded the 1st Saffron Walden Boys’ Brigade company in 1980 having previously been involved with 1st Sawbridgeworth, after holding discussions with those involved with Saffron Walden Baptist Church.

At our recent Harvest Parade service, we were able to honour Mike and thank him for the many years of hard work and dedication to the Boys’ Brigade, in the presence of his family, friends and BB members – both past and present – and a buffet lunch was enjoyed after the service.

Mike was presented with various gifts as a token of our appreciation, including an album of photos and various newspaper cut-outs from the past 45 years.

He now passes on the company baton to his son Andrew, who himself has been involved with the Company for just as long, having been one of the first to join  the anchor section when the Company was founded.

Camp 2025
(16-23 August)

Members of our Company and Senior sections recently spent a week on the North Norfolk coast for our summer camp.

The lads, accompanied by a team of volunteer staff members, took part in activities throughout the week including a high ropes course, surfing lesson, a visit to the Muckleburgh military collection, 'Camp Olympics' and a trip to Cromer Carnival, which saw an appearance from the Red Arrows.
We also enjoyed the customary 'Camp Run' and 'Camp Concert', as well as our nightly devotions sessions.

Camping at the Boys' Brigade campsite at Beeston Regis Holiday Park, between Sheringham and Cromer, it was an unforgettable, action-packed week, and our thanks go to all the staff members who gave up their week to come along.
Every year on camp, we support a charity and this year the lads and volunteers raised a fantastic £290 for Helen Keller International.
